RE: Support Falls for 2010 Olympic Logo
From: Mustel Group Market Research
Date: May 11, 2005

The BC public is less supportive of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic logo today, than when first unveiled.

Comparison of results from an earlier poll (conducted on April 25th on behalf of Global TV) to a more recent poll (conducted by Mustel Group May 5-9th) shows that support for the logo has fallen from 58% to 49%, and those who dislike it has increased from 24% to 39% .

When further probed if the logo should have represented specifically BC, or Canada in general, a slightly larger proportion states BC (51%) than Canada (43%).
The results of the recent poll are based on a random sample of BC adults who have seen the new logo which in April represented 53% of the population (n=205) and in May represented 73% of the population (n=434).
